SEI whaaaat! I had the most incredible time performing with Kaki King, Tamar Eisenmann, and Janet Noguera this past weekend at the Stanford Bing Concert Hall. SEI is Kaki and Tamar’s latest full-length performance piece. SEI is no ordinary fingerstyle guitar performance - it’s a work of art that pushes those boundaries by incorporating elements of dance, choreography, and improvisation. SEI is a MOVEMENT and I am so honored to not only have witnessed it, but to be a part of it too! Thanks so much to the legend herself Kaki King for continuing to inspire many of us in the fingerstyle world to innovate and push boundaries in our art.
We made it Y’ALL. This photo is from our first headlining show as Kat Gruvs and Janet Noguera at The Fret House in Covina. Going on my very first tour in Southern CA with one of my best friends has been incredible to say the least. I learned about the hard work and sacrifice that goes into touring, but at the end of the day it was well worth it. The most rewarding part of this experience was having the opportunity to grow/step up to the plate as a performer and getting to meet some of my heroes along the way. I enjoyed every minute of it and would love to do it all over again! Many thanks to Organic Sounds Select Guitars in Santa Ana, The Fret House in Covina, Lowden Guitars, and Stonebridge Guitars for making this possible.
Show #1 = DONE. Celebrating Lowden Guitars' 50th anniversary and sharing the stage with the homie Janet Noguera and the great Ariel Posen - definitely a night to remember. Many thanks to Larry from Organic Sounds Select Guitars in Santa Ana for having us perform for this wonderful event. SoCal tour's off to an excellent start!
Very cool gig at the UC Davis Health Medical Center (also known as Sacramento's #1 Hospital). Grateful for the many opportunities to give back to my school and the Sacramento and Davis community.
I'm beyond ecstatic to share that I have joined the Journey Instruments family!
What I love most about my Journey guitar is its tone, playability, and unique design. It’s truly a world-class performing/touring instrument, not only because of its portability, but its “larger than life” sound when plugged into a PA system.
I’ve had so much fun taking my Journey guitar with me on the road at all my performances and gigs. Not to mention it looks stunning in arctic white! As someone who studied mechanical engineering, I have a deep and profound appreciation for cool designs that bridge the gap between music and engineering.
I have been an avid fan of Journey Instruments since 2016 and it’s an absolute dream come true to finally be a part of the family!
